White Peak Planning Team Charity Day!
To celebrate World Mental Health Day, the WPP Team volunteered with the Peak District Peak Park Conservation Volunteers (PPCV).
The PPCV has worked for over 40 years to protect the Peak District National Park, giving groups of volunteers the opportunity to give back and be involved in projects of all levels.
For our Team Charity Day, we were involved in the restoration of a section of the Pennine Way at Bleaklow. We were tasked with clearing a grough of silt, rocks, and overhanging vegetation to enable the rainwater to drain freely and avoid flooding the footpath. Although it was hard work and the weather was inclement, it was great to be out in the open air in a beautiful part of the world.
If you would like to help PPCV then get in touch here https://ppcv.wordpress.com/corporate/
Below are some quotes from the team when asked what they thought of the day:
Rob – “A fantastic day out in the wilds of the Peak District away from phones and emails, getting to know everyone better and with the satisfaction of achieving something tangible after swinging a mattock around for a day!’
Chris – “That was the first time I’ve seen a mole.”
Emily – “I liked it so much I went back at the weekend!”
Liam – “Same time next week?”
Jodie – “I don’t think I’ll be doing this again.”
Kirti – “I am undeniably a town mouse.”
